Q. What is the Unity Run 2017 about?

A. The Unity Run is an inclusive un- timed 3 km walk and 7 km run to celebrate unity in diversity. People of all abilities, backgrounds and ages will participate celebrating the wonderful diversity in the UAE. Participants from all walks of life are welcomed; fully abled, partially abled, visually and physically impaired. All proudly wearing the UAE colours on their race pack T Shirts. The Unity Run is about celebrating life with friends and family. It's not about the time it takes, but the fun along the way. A coming together of people, making memories and all finishing winners.

Q. When and where is the Unity Run 2017?

A. The Unity Run will be held on Friday 24th November along Al Mamzar Beach Corniche. It will start and finish at the Slipway end of the Corniche and proceed towards the Al Mamzar Beach Park.

Q. What are the run categories?

• 3km Walk/Run

• 7km Run

Q. Can people with disabilities take part?

A. People of all abilities are welcomed and encouraged to participate.
Entry for people with disabilities is completely free of charge.
Participants may walk run or use wheel chairs.

Q. Can participants with disabilities walk or run with a ‘buddy’ along- side?

A. We welcome ‘buddies’ and they too may participate for free.
We have an active volunteer program with volunteers offering to be buddies.
On the day we can match buddies to participants if required.

Q. Where are the start and finish points of the Run?

A. The Unity Run will start and finish at the Slipway end of the Corniche and proceed towards the Al Mamzar Beach Park.

Q. What do I do if I am unable to collect my Race Pack?

A. You may appoint a representative to pick the Race Pack on your behalf. Your representative must present a completed and signed copy of your confirmation slip and a photocopy of your Identity Card (e.g., Emirates ID) or passport in order to pick up your Race Pack.
If you are a minor registrant (anyone below the age of 18), your representative must also submit a signed parental guidance form.

Q. When is the closing date of registration?

A. Registration closes on 20th November 2017 or when The Unity Run capacity is full. Register early to avoid any disappointment

Q. How will I know if my online registration has been accepted?

A. You will receive a confirmation email upon successful registration and payment.

RACE DAY

Q. What time does the event start?

A. 3 km Run/ Walk will start at 8 am

A. 7 km Run will start at 8.30 am

*All participants are advised to arrive 1 hour prior to the run flag-off time.

Q. What is The Unity Run Route?

A. The Unity Run will start and finish at the Slipway end of the Al Mamzar Beach Corniche where The Unity Village will also be situated.

Participants will proceed along the Corniche in the direction of the Al Mamzar Beach Park.

There will be two marked distances, 3km and 7km.

Q. Is there baggage deposit available?

A. Baggage deposit will be made available to all runners. Runners are advised to arrive in sufficient time to deposit their bags to avoid delays. More details will be released via the event website at a later date.

While maximum care and security will be enforced, the Organizer will not be responsible for any loss or damaged items and delays in retrieving belongings. Participants who choose to leave items at the baggage deposit may do so at their own risk.

Q. Are strollers allowed during the race?

A. strollers are allowed, as well as wheelchairs.

Q. Will there be hydration stations available?

A. Yes. Participants can refresh themselves with water provided at the Al Ain Water hydration stations along the race route.

Q. I want to watch The Unity Run– what do you advise?

A. There are lots of good locations around the course. Please refer to the Unity Run map to plan your viewing.
